Cops for kidsEach year Bedford Police Department hosts its annual "Cops for kids" event! Through community donations and support we are able to help those in need towards shirts, pants, socks, underwear, pajama's, shoes, hats, gloves, jackets, and TOYS!

civilian firearms courseEach participant pays $50.00 to attend. All money for attendance is then donated to the FOP "Cops for Kids".
This exciting and informative class will cover areas such as handgun selection, mental conditioning, ballistics, homeowner’s rights of protection, and the latest laws and legal updates regarding the use of force as well as reciprocity in other states honoring your Indiana permit. |
Support our troops rideOur Annual Support Our Troops Ride helps raise money for the FOP "Cops for kids" program. Each year we have raised over $1,000 at this event.

Chief dumon mccainIn 2012, the Bedford Police Department adopted a new Chief. Dumon McCain, a student at Bedford Middle School, was diagnosed with brain cancer late in the year. A special ceremony was held and Dumon was sworn in as honorary Chief of Police by Mayor Girgis and was presented with a uniform and badge. Pictured is "Chief" Dumon McCain and several officers who helped make his day special.
