In 2012, the Bedford Police Department adopted a new Chief. Dumon McCain, a student at Bedford Middle School, was diagnosed with brain cancer late in the year. A special ceremony was held and Dumon was sworn in as honorary Chief of Police by Mayor Girgis and was presented with a uniform and badge. Pictured is "Chief" Dumon McCain and several officers who helped make his day special.
